This will also give free replays for 48 hours. \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nPANELISTS:\n\n\n\n\nEditor Byron Smith\, ACE\nByron Smith\, ACE\, is an Emmy- and ACE Eddie Award-nominated film and television editor with more than two decades of experience shaping ambitious\, character-driven stories across drama\, thriller\, crime\, and comedy. His recent work includes Apple TV+’s “Lucky\,” starring Anya Taylor-Joy\, the upcoming Apple TV+ thriller “Safe Houses\,” and “Kill Jackie\,” starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. His extensive television credits also include “House of Cards\,” “Mindhunter\,” “True Detective\,” “Under the Banner of Heaven\,” and “The Mosquito Coast.” Known for his command of performance\, structure\, tension\, and tone\, Byron also has extensive experience with visually complex and effects-driven filmmaking. His understanding of visual effects\, sound\, and color workflows allows him to shape sequences from their earliest stages\, even while many of their final elements are still being created. \n\n\nByron has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers including David Fincher\, Carl Franklin\, Ryan Murphy\, and James Foley. Whether building a series from its earliest stages or stepping in to reshape complex material\, he brings a deeply collaborative approach\, strong technical instincts\, and a sharp editorial eye to every project. Originally from Missouri\, Byron moved to Los Angeles\, graduated from AFI\, and was the recipient of the ACE Student Eddie Award. Byron continues to help filmmakers find the most compelling and emotionally resonant version of their stories. \n  \n\n\n\n\nEditor Tyler L. Cook\nTyler L. Cook is an Independent Spirit Award-nominated picture editor currently based in Los Angeles\, CA. He is most well known for his critically acclaimed work on such award-nominated shows as Daisy Jones & the Six\, “GLOW\,” and “Little Fires Everywhere.” In 2020\, he was nominated for Best Editing at the 35th Independent Spirit Awards for his work on the feature film “Sword of Trust\,” directed by Lynn Shelton. Tyler most recently cut episodes of Apple TV’s “Lucky\,” starring Anya Taylor-Joy\, Timothy Olyphant\, and Annette Bening. \nBorn in Findlay\, OH\, Tyler received his BFA in Film from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem\, NC. He spent his summers in college working on set and in the editing rooms of alumni feature films\, most notably Craig Zobel’s “Great World of Sound” and Zack Godshall’s “Low and Behold\,” which both premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Upon graduation\, Tyler moved to Los Angeles and continued working as an assistant editor for independent features and television. In 2012\, Tyler was promoted to Editor on “The Vampire Diaries\,” a series he cut two seasons of before co-editing the pilot of its spinoff show “The Originals.” Tyler enjoys working in a wide range of genres from horror to comedy and is particularly interested in character-driven stories with difficult tones that utilize all of the tools of the cinematic medium. Tyler is currently represented by Innovative Artists. \n  \n\n\n\n\nEditor Greg O’Bryant\nGreg O’Bryant\, originally from Louisville\, KY\, is a multi-disciplined editor whose work has screened at such festivals as Sundance\, SXSW\, Toronto\, and Telluride. His film credits include Scott Z. Burns’ “The Report” and Daniel Roher’s “Tuner”. In television\, his work can be seen in ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ (Amazon)\, ‘The Girlfriend Experience’ (Starz)\, and ‘Cape Fear’ (Apple+). A graduate of the Florida State Film School’s MFA program (’04)\, he also regularly produces film and television\, including Barry Jenkins’ debut feature ‘Medicine for Melancholy’ and the Emmy-winning series ‘The Act’ for Hulu. \n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n\nEdior Stephanie Filo\, ACE\nStephanie Filo\, ACE\, is a 4-time Emmy winner\, 7-time Emmy nominee\, Peabody and ACE Eddie award winner who is celebrated for her work across film and television. In 2024\, Stephanie made history as the first Picture Editor to be nominated for three editing Emmys in the same year across three different shows. Nominated for her work on Netflix’s “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story\,” created by Ryan Murphy; Hulu’s “History of the World Part II\,” a sequel to Mel Brooks’ iconic original film; and Robin Thede’s groundbreaking HBO series “A Black Lady Sketch Show\,” Stephanie’s nominations also made her the first Black editor to be nominated 3 times for Picture Editing in a single year. Stephanie has also been a part of other historic Emmy wins. In 2020\, for the news documentary Separated\, she and Nzinga Blake became the first Sierra Leonean women to win an Emmy Award. In 2021\, Stephanie earned the Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming as part of the first all-women-of-color editing team to receive the honor. She made history again in 2022\, winning both an Emmy and an ACE Eddie Award as part of the first all-Black editing team to receive either distinction. Stephanie most recently cut together Minhal Baig’s “We Grown Now\,” for which she received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Editing\, and most recently worked on the Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again\,” as well as having worked on the short film “Horsegirls.” \n\n  \n\n\n\nModerator Chad Anderson\nChad Anderson is a filmmaker\, editor\, educator\, and longtime moderator of Manhattan Edit Workshop’s Sight\, Sound & Story series. With more than 20 years of experience in editing\, visual effects\, and media production\, he has worked on corporate\, educational\, broadcast\, nonprofit\, and military projects for clients including E! Entertainment\, The Charlie Rose Show\, The WB\, and the Count Basie Center for the Arts.
