Sight, Sound & Story : Live Schedule
Sight, Sound & Story's 2020 event series format is moving online. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sight, Sound & Story has delayed its live in-person events (June's Post Summit & November's The Art of Cinematography) until 2021. Until that time the event series is launching a live online monthly event series. This series will feature unique guests and subjects that will vary between editing, cinematography, and all aspects of filmmaking. These live events will give attendees a chance to ask questions and even win raffle prizes from our sponsors. Most importantly, these events will be live and free to the public.
Sight, Sound & Story: Live "Making the Grade: Color in TV & Film"
Moderator: Jason Druss (Senior Colorist at WarnerMedia Studios)
Panelists: Élodie Ichter (The Irishman, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, The Maze Runner) & Stephen Nakamura (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian, Prometheus)
Inside Episode VI: The contribution of the colorist in film goes beyond just making the scenes and images look good. A great colorist will draw the audience's eye to what is important in the story and enhance the emotional tone of the film in ways that can be subtle yet effective.
Join us for this special conversation with colorists Stephen Nakamura (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martian, Prometheus) and Élodie Ichter (The Irishman, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, The Maze Runner) as they discuss the creative process of color grading in their work. Jason Druss who is a senior colorist at WarnerMedia Studios, will guide the conversation as well as show examples of how Stephen and Élodie use color correction to make their films click for audiences. There will be a section for you to ask questions during this event!
