Three-time Academy Award-winner Michael Kahn joins this year’s lineup of celebrated artists, editors, and filmmakers for the highly anticipated Sight, Sound & Story event.

New York, New York – April 16, 2014 – Manhattan Edit Workshop (MEWShop), a leading digital training destination for post-production professionals and content creators, has officially announced the impressive roster of guest speakers and panelists for its annual one-day event, Sight, Sound & Story, to be held on June 14, 2014, at the French Institute in midtown Manhattan.

Sight, Sound & Story is one of the few gatherings that brings the creative community together to celebrate the art and craft of post-production,” says Josh Apter, founder and president of Manhattan Edit Workshop. “This year, we’re pulling out all the stops. Attendees will have a chance to see film scenes evolve and discuss the process live with the editors who shaped them.”

This unique event will feature an extraordinary behind-the-scenes look at the world of film and television editing. Participants will experience in-depth discussions and live demonstrations from some of the industry’s top talents. The program includes screenings of key scenes from The Wolf of Wall Street, where attendees will hear and see the progression from raw production sound to the final surround sound mix, guided by the very team who brought the film to life.

The highlight of the day will be an exclusive session with Michael Kahn, A.C.E., one of the most accomplished editors in film history. Kahn, known for his more than 30-year collaboration with Steven Spielberg, will take the audience through some of their most iconic scenes, offering rare insights into the storytelling, pacing, and emotional rhythm that define great cinema.

With a focus on feature films, television’s golden age, and sports docudramas, Sight, Sound & Story promises to inspire both aspiring editors and seasoned professionals alike. This event is not only a masterclass in post-production but a true celebration of the visual and sonic artistry that shapes every great story.
