Behind the Lens of “Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat”

tJoin us for a deep dive into “Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat,” a unique comedic series set during a corporate retreat where almost the entire cast are actors, except Anthony, an unwitting participant whose real reactions shape the unfolding story. Director of Photography Chris Darnell joins moderator Chad Anderson to explore how the series was crafted from lens to edit. They will discuss how visual choices, performance, and storytelling work around this unusual mix of scripted and unscripted reality.

Chris Darnell

Chris Darnell is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer known for blending documentary realism with cinematic comedy across film, television, and hidden-camera productions. He gained widespread recognition for his work on the Emmy-nominated comedy series “Jury Duty,” following earlier high-profile projects including “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “Bad Trip,” Showtime’s “Who Is America?,” Netflix’s “Murder” promos, and “Impractical Jokers” feature projects.

 

 

 

 

Chad Anderson

Chad Anderson is a college professor, animation geek, poet, video editor & skateboarder from the Jersey Shore. He has worked on a range of editing and visual FX projects for corporate, educational, broadcast, non-profit, and military organizations all over the country (and once in Korea). Previous clients have included E! Entertainment, “The Charlie Rose Show,” the WB, The Count Basie Theatre and a film that went straight to video with John Stamos in it. He holds a Master’s in Education from NJCU and has been teaching for over 18 years.
